Vo-Yo Training Course

The VO-YO training course will be organized in Ankara, Turkey in August 2012 (05-12 August 2012) and it will involve young people from 13 organisations and 10 countries – Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherland, Romania and Turkey. Each country will participate with one youth worker and one young person who have fewer opportunities. VO-YO means that (VO)lunteer and (YO)uth Worker.

The youngsters will have the opportunity together with the youth workers, as couples, support each other and get to know each other and themselves through the activities which will support their personal growth towards volunteering especially on EVS. The main focus will be peer educator’s skills in Europe social context like active citizenship. The main goal of the VO-YO training course is to empower and prepare young people with fewer opportunities to participate in EVS projects and training course provides competence development of youth workers working with young people with fewer opportunities.

Main objectives of the project are providing tools for young people´s personal development, creating the space for the youth workers to share their experience in the European field, increasing the participants´ awareness about intercultural learning and inter-religious dialogue, working on participants communication skills, to give youth leaders and youth workers the opportunity to increase their own competences and facilitation skills, training participants in various types of problem solving, conflict resolution technique and emotion management, providing the information and clarification about formal aspects of the EVS program, dealing with European awareness and creating the space for the youth workers to share their experience in the European field.
