Learning Space Contemporary Media tools

This training course aims at bringing together youth workers, youth leaders working in civil society who are willing and able to use their existing skills and acquiring new ones in reporting youth activities using different media tools. During the training the participants will have possibility to get new skills and knowledge how they can write an article and adapt it to the needs of the audience/readers as well as be realistic in what they will report. The 7 days training will provide them with tips how to write, structure an article or a press release, what are the steps they should follow, and how to publish it in different websites or blog pages. The training encourages the participation of youngsters socially disadvantaged and with fewer opportunities to participate actively and give them a chance to be included and rise up their voice through using the freedom of speech through youth work. The project’s main objectives of the seminar are: – To raise awareness and understanding of the significance of active European citizenship and youth participation using different mass medias – To learn concrete practical tools like creating a blog of the new reporters, preparing a youth conference, press re-lease amongst others – To set up new partnerships among partner promoters developing future projects focusing on active European citizenship and media – To promote Youth in Action as a tool that encourages participation of youngsters socially disadvantaged to raise up their voice; at the same time, being realistic on how much the social media is influencing youngsters today (use of social media such as: Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Bebo, Youtube, Hi5 etc) we aim that with this training we provide for participants more tools on how to access these media resources and use it for the benefit and promotion of youth work and reach a massive youth audience. Combining what is interesting to youth (the media in general, internet in particular) and what can serve good to the NGO-s and individuals (usage of these channels) we aim at training young people on how to write quality articles and reports for their youth activities and how to set up strategies to attract media to present and promote youth activities. We look for 2 motivated youngsters: available places left: 2 – Participation fee for each project is 30% of the travel costs, plus the annual membership fee 2013 (30€).
